YING TSANG
Chemical and Water Engineering Advisor
Occidental Petroleum
Ying received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University. During his graduate study at Cornell University, he received a scholarship from NASA to study the behavior of bubbles in multiphase, gas/liquid flows in microgravity environment. He had a couple of opportunities to fly on a modified KC-135, aka the vomit comet, to test out some instruments. Upon graduation, he began playing with sand as in silicon wafers in the semiconductor industry for 4 years. Then he continued to play with sand as in proppants in the oil industry for the next 14 years. He is now a chemical advisor with Oxy
